Holy Fire

COVID-19 Update

Due to these unpredictable times, Holy Fire 2020 has been CANCELED. We will keep you updated with any further developments.

What is Holy Fire and why is is great?

Holy Fire hosts sixth to ninth grade students from parish Religious Education programs and Catholic Schools together with their teachers, catechists, youth ministers, chaperones and pastors. As community youth comes together, they are challenged to participate in activities centered around prayer, witness and joy that perpetuate the concept of becoming missionary disciples who are not afraid to witness the faith. Ultimately, Holy Fire helps young people to see themselves as witnesses of Christ and members of a young Church.

Who goes to Holy Fire?

It is recommended by the Youth Board, based on the heightened number of retreats, programs, etc. offered by the Archdiocese of Chicago, that parishes in our grouping consider sending their Confirmation preparation students in the first year of preparation to Holy Fire as their retreat day. Holy Fire, however, is open to any student in 6th-9th grade.
