The second floor of the St. Theresa Building at St. Nicholas Parish is complete! With agreement between Pope John XXIII School and United Catholic Youth Ministries, the space has been renovated and is now our José Sánchez del Río Center! Below are the project points that were completed.

• Locker rooms have been changed into two new spaces: multi-purpose small group/meeting room and an office for the UCYM staff.
• Air purifiers have been added to all three rooms.
• All spaces have been repainted and touched up.
• Storage has moved into the area between the new UCYM office and the Physical Education Teacher's office.
• Sink and counter top have been installed in the Main Room (formerly Youth Room).
• Scratch and water proof vinyl flooring has been laid in the two new rooms.
• Signage for the new center has been updated including picture banners going up the staircase to the second floor.
• Added security has been placed on the Gym doors, former concession stand entrance, and all doors in the new UCYM Center. 

 
We want to thank everyone who came during the process and gave of their time, talent, and treasure, especially Javier, Alfredo, and Harry (teen) Castro. For their service, we have awarded them the 2020 United Catholic Youth Ministries Heart of Service Award. As we know, Youth Ministry can’t exist without parent support and we have seen what UCYM is capable of because of the support of our dedicated parents.
