Statement on the Outbreak of War with Iran

United Catholic Youth Ministries stands in profound sorrow and prayer for the outbreak of war following military strikes and retaliatory attacks involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, a conflict that has already cost lives and threatens countless more.

​We unequivocally condemn all violence, especially actions that violate law and put innocent civilians at risk. War inflicts unimaginable suffering, deepens wounds between peoples, and erodes the dignity of every human life. Our faith calls us to be peacemakers in a world torn by conflict and defend human life.

We call for an immediate end to all military operations, a renewed commitment to diplomacy and dialogue, and a just pursuit of peace that upholds human rights and protects the most vulnerable. Let us commit ourselves to prayer, to peaceful solidarity with those affected, and to working for a world where the sword is turned into the ploughshare.
Peace is not optional — it is a moral imperative.
