Employment and Volunteer Opportunities

UCYM has many wonderful opportunities to get involved. All of our volunteer opportunities are flexible commitments. All employment opportunities are available to be done remotely when the position description does not require in person participation. 

All candidates must meet the following criteria:   ​
  • Desire to learn and grow in the areas:
    • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
    • Catholic Social Teaching  
  • Desire to work with and on behalf of young people. 
  • Desire to work in collaborative teams. 
  • Must undergo and pass a criminal background check and be in compliance with child protection mandates. 
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office 365 apps or desire to learn. 
  • Must be an excellent communicator, detail-oriented and self-motivated.   
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide variety of people, including lay ministers, college students, clergy, volunteers, and persons with varied social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds and abilities.     
  • Fully committed to supporting the Gospel message.

Volunteer Opportunites


Youth Ministers
Youth Ministers volunteer in a variety of ways through many programs offered through UCYM. Youth Ministers are dedicated adults who have a passion for working with youth and accompanying them on their faith journey. ​
Podcast Team Members
Members of our Closed on Sunday Podcast assist the team in a variety of ways including, based on interest and skills, graphic design, audio/video editing, topic and speaker researchers, and being hosts for episodes. ​
Social Media Strategists and Influencers
Social Media Strategists and Influencers assist the Communications Team with researching and creating relevant content that keeps people engaged with our social media platforms.

Staff Team Opportunities


All of our dedicated staff are working in volunteer capacities. 
Director, Communications
The director of communications is the leader behind strategic outreach by overseeing and developing communications, which includes but is not limited to Flocknote (our email communication platform), social media (Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok), and the website. ​​​​​
Manager, Digital Evangelization
DREAM BIG! The digital evangelization manager is responsible for discerning ways that UCYM can use its digital platforms for the purposes of evangelization. The person will work closely with the communications and podcast teams and will mentor our social media influencers. 
Coordinator, Podcast Program
The podcast program coordinator collaborates with the program director on the implementation of the podcast program. ​​​​​
Coordinator, Development (Grant Writing)
The development coordinator is responsible for grant writing that will support the annual budget and project development. 

Board of Directors Opportunities


Board Officers
Terms Ending October 2026
President
The President provides leadership to the Board of Directors, ensuring effective governance and fidelity to UCYM’s mission. They collaborate closely with the Executive Director, facilitate board meetings, and guide strategic vision and decision-making.

Vice President
The Vice President supports the President in board leadership and assumes leadership responsibilities in their absence. They assist with strategic initiatives, committee coordination, and strengthening board engagement.

Treasurer
The Treasurer oversees the financial health and stewardship of the organization. They work with staff and the board to monitor budgets, financial reporting, and compliance, ensuring responsible and transparent use of resources.

Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for maintaining accurate records of board meetings and organizational documents. They ensure compliance with governance requirements and support clear communication within the board.

Development Officer
The Development Officer supports fundraising and resource development efforts for UCYM. They help cultivate donor relationships, support grant and fundraising initiatives, and advocate for the financial sustainability of the organization.
Voting Board Member Seats
5 Current Vacancies
​Voting Members are responsible for setting strategic direction as well as policies and procedures that will help advance UCYM's mission and operations.

Voting member candidates must be affirmed by a majority vote of the current board. ​
Auxiliary Board Members
​​Auxiliary Members are non-voting members who join a board working group that supports implementation of a specific area of UCYM ministry and administration. 

UCYM has four working groups:
  • Faith Formation and Evangelization
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
  • Communications
  • Finance Council*

*All members of this working group are eligible to vote.
Spiritual Advisors
Spiritual Advisors are clergy and religious who commit to supporting UCYM's spiritual and sacramental life. Our spiritual advisors also help promote vocations. ​

UCYM is open to anyone in religious life or clergy to be a spiritual advisor. ​
