Oblate James Holzhauer-Chuckas, ObSB Executive Director 847-719-071 x291 James is an Oblate of the Order of St. Benedict with St. Scholastica Monastery in Chicago and a founding member of UCYM. James works full-time for the Archdiocese of Chicago as the Coordinator for Children and Youth Ministry. Prior to UCYM, James has worked for other nonprofit organizations such as the McGaw YMCA, Kids Playing Camps, and Evanston/Skokie School District 65. James is a sharp advocate for the marginalized in society and in the Church. |
Barbara Escobar Associate Executive Director 847-719-9071 x293 Barbara has extensive background in ministry and has served as a liturgical and pastoral leader in parishes and as a Young Adult engagement leader with Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. Barbara works full-time for the Art Institute of Chicago as Assoicate Director of Civic Relations and Partnerships. |
Sherley Alvarado Assistant Executive Director Senior Director, Advancement 847-719-9071 x292 Sherley is a registered nurse and works full-time as a Neurosurgical ICU Nurse at UI Health. Sherley has a passion for community organizing and helping people feel a sense of belonging. |

Patricia Tomich Senior Director, Mission Integration 847-719-9071 x294 Pat is an educator who has taught students in both the General Education and Special Education classrooms. She has worked in several Catholic High Schools, currently teaching theology part-time at Regina Dominican High School. Pat is a volunteer ministry leader in her parish of St. John XXIII in Evanston. Pat is an Associate with the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart and holds a passion for creation. |
Jeffrey Garcia Senior Director, Digital Community Building 847-719-9071 Jeff was among the first teen leaders at UCYM and has served in various leadership roles since being in high school, most notably being the co-leader of the podcast program. Jeff studied civil engineering at Bradley University and works full-time in construction management in Indianapolis. Jeff loves tech of all kinds and building PCs, playing guitar, and cooking. |
