YOUth Ministry

The success of a parish youth ministry is no longer simply defined by a parish having a youth group, no matter how large it is. Youth Ministry is defined by its presence in a parish through more than just young people gathering on their own. A strong parish has a strong presence from youth across all areas of parish life, where youth are active members from set up to leadership.

Through the four pillars of Youth Ministry, UCYM offers many events, programs, and services for youth in 6th-12th grade.

Four pillars of Youth Ministry
  • Faith Formation
  • Prayer & Worship
  • Service & Mission
  • Youth/Community Development

Getting Started Resource
Juan Pablo Padilla, Coordinator for Young Adult Engagement  for the Archdiocese of Chicago hosted a webinar about creating intentional spaces for encounter with our young people. This webinar is a great resource in helping parishes understand ministry to young people and, even before getting started, what needs to be understood and in your "tool box."
