What is this pilot about?

UCYM will be participating in a pilot for anti-racism education for our youth and parents/guardians. The pilot goal will be to build a program around anti-racism education and training for youth and parents/guardians. 

What resources are we looking at using?

Our Anti-Racism Pilot Team is currently discerning various resources to tap into for this work. 

Here are the resources we are currently discerning:

• This Book is Anti-Racist (Tiffany Jewell)
• This Book is Anti-Racist Journal (Tiffany Jewell)
• The Racial Healing Handbook (Anneliese A. Singh, PhD, LPC)
• White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism (Dr. Robin DiAngelo)

​How can I help?

There are a variety of ways you can help us with this important work! 

1. You can JOIN our team. We will need passionate and thoughtful leadership in order to keep this moving forward. 
2. You can PARTICIPATE once the pilot begins. Sometimes the best support is in the ministry of presence. Your presence AND participation in the program will be important, especially if you are a youth or parent/guardian. 
3. Please PRAY for us. Prayer holds profound power and we will need prayers as we embark on this journey.
