What is United Catholic Youth Ministries?
United Catholic Youth Ministries (UCYM) is a regional parish-based ministry that serves youth, young adults, and families in the Evanston region of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Mission Statement UCYM accompanies youth, young adults, and families on their faith journey. Vision Statement UCYM has four main pastoral ministry focuses: youth ministry, young adult ministry, campus ministry, and Hispanic ministry, which are supported by four pillars of pastoral ministry: service, worship, faith formation, and community building. History UCYM was first established in October of 2016 and was launched in January of 2017 with its first event hosted at St. Nicholas Parish (now St. Nicholas Church of St. John XXIII Parish). UCYM was established in close consideration of Renew My Church in the Archdiocese of Chicago and the need to collaborate. In March of 2018, UCYM was commissioned to start its ministry in the Evanston parishes and schools. |
