diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) statement
The staff and leadership of United Catholic Youth Ministries makes it part of the foundation of their mission to thoughtfully, prayerfully, and with intention build a culture at United Catholic Youth Ministries where diversity, equity, and inclusion are respected and intentionally valued by creating bold, innovative, and pastoral strategies that can serve as a model for formation, outreach, and pastoral ministry for all those served through United Catholic Youth Ministries.
United Catholic Youth Ministries takes a strong stance on being a ministry that is welcoming, celebrates everyone, and takes action. We uphold and fight for the dignity of every person and of creation. We uphold the Gospel message that celebrates life, breaks down borders, promotes racial justice, teaches us to learn about others and coexist even when we don't agree, cares for our common home, and empowers a just society regarding gender, especially for women, and sexuality. We must stand together with our siblings in Christ when they are oppressed and we must never let our faith be a reason for us to stand idle or promote injustice. We can never say "that's not my problem" because everything is our problem when it regards life and dignity of the human person. Jesus didn't minister to a few, He ministered to all. Whether it's through prayer, petition, presence, or other action, we will always be a ministry for all.
